MISSION.

B-Cinq Technologies aims to improve performance and effeciency of vehicles by using smart systems. Our innovative team is fuelled by the idea of getting beyond the limitations of multiple current technologies used in the industry.

RECREATIVE MARKET.

Snowmobiles, side-by-side vehicles, and ATVs are generally equipped with mechanical continuously variable transmissions (CVT) whose current operating principle limit the potential performance and improvements of the said vehicles. The main issues perceived by the users are the irregular efficiency, the excessive noise of the motor at low speed and the reaction delay of the system.

INNOVATION.

A new, patented, Electromechanical Continuously Variable Transmission (EVT) is our solution. Integrating smart control makes it possible to optimize the behavior of the vehicle in all circumstances according to the needs of the user,  by using different control strategies, for example by pre-programmed driving modes. The concept has been validated through hundreds of hours of extreme use of a prototype built into the Baja ÉTS vehicle which won two Baja SAE international competitions in 2017. The concept developed greatly simplifies the control mechanism compared to other solutions developed to  this date by the industry, attributing competitive advantages to our product in terms of reliability and cost of manufacturing.

Prototype with more than 400 hours of validation in extreme conditions from -30°C to 40°C.

ADVANTAGES.

This concept is a breakthrough technology that will differentiate future products from products with the older generation of transmission. Why are we so confident about our solution? This is because the first version of our concept has already exceeded the performance of currently marketed CVT's and the results have been demonstrated in a dozen competitions in harsh environnement.

The EVT technology has the potential to literally change the relation between the customer and his vehicule, simply by ajusting the transmission behavior depending on the driver command.  The real-time control system constantly change the transmission ratio to also react to the environnement and the pilot's driving style. In other words, the system is keeping the engine at it's peak operation point to maximize speed, fuel economy and power delivery.

The last advantage of our technology is it's simplicity. The low number and complexity of the parts let us estimate a production cost similar to the one of a mechanical CVT.

ROAD VEHICLES MARKET

The interest in this type of technology goes beyond the boundaries of the off-road field with the automotive industry, which is introducing more and more CVTs into road vehicles in order to take advantage of the infinite number of transmission ratios allowing a significant reduction of fuel consumption. The compact cars, scooters and three-wheelers vehicles are already use CVT transissions and would greatly benefit from the EVT transmission advantage. Considering the small displacement of the engines used by these light vehicles, the maximization of the power transmitted is a considerable advantage as improve their efficiency while keeping prices similar. In addition, reducing the weight of vehicles by replacing traditional materials with lighter alternatives results in average cost to vehicle manufacturers of $ 2.00 to $ 3.50 per kilogram saved. Reducing the weight and cost of automotive transmissions through the use of B-Cinq technology would be a major asset for manufacturers in this market perspective.
